ADVERTISING COMES OF AGE
May 11th through October
30th 2005
The history of American advertising 1920 -1970 is an exciting, beautifully produced traveling exhibit that tells the story of modern advertising from its inception in the prosperous 1920s through the creative revolution of the 1960s.
This exhibit tells this colorful story through
the celebrities, slogans, art and historical ads
each decade produced. Continuous playing programs
of classic radio and television commercials provide
a complete chronology of how advertising introduced
Americans to such staples as plastics, copy machines
and even polyester fabrics.
